Never Say Never

Watch, "Never Say Never" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 12-21-14

Among those with whom you will be spending Christmas, who is most unlikely to ever become a Christian?

The passage is all about someone just like that person. And what happened to him will make you dream again about what can happen to them. Sure they're stubborn, but God is stubborner

Blocking

Watch, "Blocking" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 12-14-14

This is one time of year when almost everybody thinks about Jesus. How can they not, with all those Christmas carols playing?

But how can we capitalize on the opportunities to we have during the holiday season to help people find and follow Jesus? Acts 8:26-40 is packed with practical ideas that we will highlight this Sunday at White Pine.

And if you're still investigating Christ, you need to know that there is as much for you in this passage as there is for those who have crossed the line of faith. Join us and learn how to access the information you need to make the decision that is best for you.

One Solitary Life

Watch, "One Solitary Life" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 11-16-14

Is a Christlike life an attainable goal?

Theologians may say no, but this Sunday we'll meet a man whose life begs to differ. And from his example we will catch a vision of the difference we can make in the world if becoming like Jesus is our consuming passion.

Growning Pains

Watch, "Growing Pains" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 11-09-14, White Pine Community Church

Almost everybody I know has a love-hate relationship with church growth. They want more people to find and follow Jesus, of course, but can't the church grow without changing? We like it the way it is, thank you.
Statistically, more churches are successful at resisting change than they are at accommodating growth. But what if White Pine could grow without losing that which makes it special? And what if you could help the church do that?
In this message we will be studying Acts 6:1-7, a passage that shows both you and me how each of us can help the church keep getting better, even as it gets bigger.

When Submission is Sin

Submission to authority is something that should characterize every Christian. But is there ever a time when it would be a sin to submit?
The Book of Acts answers that question clearly. Yes.
But how do we know when that time has come? We'll find out this Sunday at White Pine, so that we'll be prepared for that moment when obedience to God calls for holy rebellion.

Trust the Nudge

Watch, "Trust the Nudge" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 10-12-14, White Pine Community Church

Sometimes the difference between an ordinary day and an extraordinary one is what we do with nudges.

I'm not talking about physical nudges. I'm talking about those times when the Spirit of God whispers to us so softly that we're not sure if it's Him or not. What can we expect to happen if we take the risk of altering our plans to obey that still small voice?

In this message we will study Acts 3, which describes a remarkable day that began with a simple nudge. My prayer is that it will help you recognize those times when God is nudging you, so that more days in your life will go from ordinary to extraordinary.

Sinners in the Hands of a Gracious God

Watch, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" by Greg Sidders

Believe it or not, it was in our neck of the woods that the Spirit of God worked so powerfully in the 1740s that historians gave the phenomenon a name

The Great Awakening.

Could it happen again? Here? If so, what would it look like?

In this message we are going to study together the second chapter of the Book of Acts, which describes an earlier Great Awakening and gives us a vision of what is possible in area code 207 today, since the One who did it in the first century and again in the 18th century is still alive and well in the 21st century

207: Prepare for Liftoff

Watch, "207, Prepare for Liftoff" by Greg Sidders

If Jesus materialized in front of you like a State Farm agent, what is the one thing you would ask Him for?
Here's a better question:  What would He most want to give you?

This Sunday is our Fall Kickoff, but before we head to the Ministry Center for great food and fellowship, we're going to launch into a study of the Book of Acts, which begins with an astounding truth: The ministry of Jesus has not ended. In fact, it has spread to area code 207. He is here. Now.

Kindness

Watch, "Kindness, The Touch of God" by Randy Reynolds, Sunday, 09-14-14

The apostle Paul said that one of the qualities that Spirit-filled people cannot help but exhibit is kindness. But when was the last time you thought deeply about how to better reflect God's kindness?

In this message you'll have the opportunity to do exactly that, under the teaching ministry of Randy Reynolds. This is a topic that the Spirit has led Randy to teach, so I have no doubt it will nourish and encourage you.

Play Your Part

Watch, "Play Your Part" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 09-07-14

Someone has described the game of football as 22 men on the field badly in need of rest and 50,000 people in the stands badly in need of exercise.

That could also be a description of the church.

Too many of us never get in the game because we don't think we have what it takes to help the team.
But what if God showed up and endowed you with the ability to make a significant contribution? In this message you will see that He has done exactly that, and you will have the opportunity to begin exploring new ways to help the church become what it has the potential to be.

A Day in the Life: Like Lightning

Watch, "Like Lightning" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 08-11-14

Jesus is the light of the world--the One who illuminates the personality of and the path to God--but as much as we might wish His light was as constant as the sun, it can be as fleeting as a flash of lightning.
How we respond to whatever light we are given determines not only the course of our life, but also the destiny of our soul. In this message we're going to learn from John 9 how to be guided by the light rather than blinded by it.

Missions Sunday, 06-22-14

Watch, "Missions Sunday", White Pine Community Church, 06-22-14

God is writing a love story, and you are in it.
In fact, He had you in mind before the story began, and you will be part of the last chapter. But what about this chapter--the one you are living in right now? The one with a lot of details that don't seem to fit into some larger narrative--what is the significance of it? What role does He have for you to play?

Surthrive: Parenting

Watch, "Surthrive: Parenting, by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 06-08-14

I was an expert on parenting until I had kids.

Now I am part of a loosely organized support group comprised of almost every parent I know. Every child is unique, but we parents share the common experience of being in way over our heads and wondering if our heart will survive the extremes of emotion that are involved in the holy, messy, never-ending privilege of parenthood.

Whether you are a parent or you have parents, I hope you will join me as we wrap up this series. I really do think the encouragement and instruction we receive from the Scriptures will help us surthrive.

Surthrive: For Better

When you vowed to love your husband/wife for better or worse, did you expect your life to get better or worse?

We all enter marriage idealistically, but it doesn't take long to learn that two less than perfect people don't make for a perfect marriage. Even the happiest couples I know would admit that there's room for improvement.

In this message Greg shares with you a few biblical principles that will make your marriage better, not worse. I hope you'll listen with your spouse and with an eagerness to apply God's truth to your relationship.

SurThrive: Breathing Room

I know you want to thrive. But sometimes life is so hard that it's enough to just survive.

Or is it?

I'd like to suggest a new goal. Let's surthrive. Let's stop waiting for better circumstances and find a way to make the most of the less than ideal.
For the next four weeks, you're going to tell me the the areas of your life that are most challenging to you, and I'm going to help you find passages in the Bible that will help you to surthrive in those areas. I think I'll be scratching where you're itching, and I suspect you have unchurched friends with a similar itch.

One on One With Jesus- Part 2

Listen to, "One on One With Jesus: Part 2" by Josh Sibert

Are you tired of feeling discontent in life?  Do you have that thirst for something more, but you don't know what it is?  You aren't alone!

In this message Josh will look at the story of a person who was struggling with the same issue, until Jesus interrupted her life.

One on One With Jesus: Part 1

Listen to, "One on One With Jesus: Part 1, by Josh Sibert, Sunday, 04-28-14

With all of the questions that are left unanswered in life, how would you like it if you could have a one-on-one interview with Jesus in person? What would you ask or say to Him?

In this message we look at the story of a man who had this opportunity. What Jesus gave him in return was more than he could have expected! It is something we all need to know!

Unique: I am Second

Watch, "Unique: I am Second" by Greg Sidders, Sunday 03-30-14

What if the primary way God wants to use you is to help others be used by Him?

If reaching our full potential overlaps with becoming more like Jesus, we will, over time, care more about how God is using others than we do about how He is using us. But how can we help others to fulfill God's dream for their life?

In this message we will wrap up this series by studying an obscure biblical character whose others-centeredness allowed him to be used by God like no one else.

Unique: Blindsided

Watch, "Unique: Blindsided" by Greg Sidders

Sunday, 03-16-14

Just think of what God could have done through you if not for what others have done to you.

You were a rising star until that person, or those people, made you the target of their mistreatment.  You were betrayed. Blindsided. Bypassed. Accused falsely. Abused. It halted your momentum and downsized your potential.

Or did it?  What if unjust setbacks are not obstacles to being used by God, but opportunities for Him to use you like no one else?

I'm praying that through this message you will see the darkest moment of your life in a whole new light.

The Kind of People God Uses: Judges 6-8

Watch, "The Kind of People God Uses" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 03-02-14

Stare at the above title. How does it make you feel? Does your heart beat faster because it expresses a holy longing? Or do the words fail to resonate because you think you're not the kind of person God can use? Or is there dissonance between your ambitions and feelings of inadequacy?

You know that God can use anybody, and that He doesn't use everybody. What you may find hard to believe is that what it takes to be used by God, you just might have.

In this message we begin a 5-part series by looking at the Bible's poster child for inadequacy. Watch and see what God did with such unimpressive raw materials!

How God Feels About You

Watch, "How God Feels About You" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 02-23-14, White Pine Community Church

After studying the Book of Revelation, you may be wondering how God feels about you. I thought this message would be a good time for us to be reminded of what God feels when He thinks of us, and why that matters in our everyday lives.

Heaven on Earth: Revelation 21:1 - 22:6

Watch, "Heaven on Earth: Revelation 21:1 - 22:6 by Greg Sidders, White Pine Community Church, Sunday, 02-09-14

We don't like to admit this, but the only reason some of us want to go to heaven is because it beats the alternative.
Why is it that we're not really looking forward to going to a place that our faith says is better by far than where we live now? It's because of the mystery factor. We're afraid of the unknown.
That's why this study of Revelation 21 at White Pine is so important.  It will familiarize us with our true home, and make us more determined than ever to live as pilgrims rather than settlers on this temporary planet.

What Happens After We Die? Revelation 20

Watch, "What Happens After We Die? Revelation 20" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 02-02-14

What happens after we die?
I know that's an uncomfortable question, but wouldn't you like to know the answer? Good news: You don't have to guess. In the Bible God has revealed a lot about life after death--and there is probably no chapter that tells us more about it than Revelation 20 does. We'll be studying that chapter in this message. I hope you'll listen and take a peek at what's on the other side of that door that every single one of us will one day walk through.

Is God Fair?

Watch, "Is God Fair? Revelation 15-16" by Greg Sidders

No doubt you have asked the question--whether under a pressure cooker lid of silence or a fist-shaking eruption of heavenward screams. However it looked externally, it was a crisis of faith internally.
Is God fair?

No one makes it through life in this justice-deficient world without wondering if and when God is going to step in and make things right. Whatever it is that has made the question personal for you, in this message you're going to get an answer--from Revelation 15 and 16--that will make you look forward to the future like never before.

Follow the Star- 12-24-13

Watch, "Follow the Star" by Greg Sidders
Christmas Eve 2013

What are you searching for?
God never fails to light the path of those who are looking for Him.
White Pine's annual Christmas Eve celebration is a great way to come together as a community,
but it's also an invitation to take your next step toward the light of God's love.

Who is the Antichrist? Revelation 13-14

Watch, "Who is the Antichrist? Revelation 13-14" by Greg Sidders, Sunday, 01-05-14

Here's a new year's question for you: Who is the antichrist?
Strange timing for a talk about such a grim subject, I know, but that's where we are in our study of the Book of Revelation. I don't think it's an accident that we are beginning 2014 with this message. I think God wants to launch us into a victorious year of following Jesus, despite the resistance we will face. And I think He wants to help those who have not yet decided whether to follow Jesus why this is the year to settle the issue.
Whether you are determined to follow Jesus or are deciding whether or not to do so, I encourage you to read Revelation 13-14, and listen to this in-depth study of these two chapters. It'll help you get 2014 off to a great start.
